Helpful tip for applying the sun cream
Put enough cream in your hand, put your finger in it and dab it all over your skin. Then, thoroughly spread and “massage” it in with circular movements. The sun cream is spread nice and evenly this way for all-around protection from UVA and UVB.

A few sun protection tips for the Winter Sun sun cream
Apply cream several times! Applying cream once is not enough to protect your skin from the sun for the whole day. Sweating, swimming, abrasion etc. cut the sun cream’s protective film on the skin. It is recommended to re-apply cream hourly depending on the activity.
Apply plenty of sun cream all over your body! Sun cream only achieves the stated SPF when it is applied heavily and extensively. Studies make this quite clear – most people don’t use enough sun cream. As a result, the protective film is too thin and you cannot get full protection.
Als Lichtschutz kommt der 100% natürliche, mineralische Filter Titandioxid (Titanium Dioxide) zur Anwendung.
Was ist Titandioxid?
Titan ist ein natürlich vorkommendes Metall, das Oxid des Titans ist Titandioxid.
Einsatzgebiete von Titandioxid:
Titandioxid hat ein breites Anwendungsspektrum – von Zahnpasta über Sonnencreme, Kaugummi, Arzneimitteln, Hustenbonbons bis zu Papierbeschichtungen, Malerfarbe, Korrekturlacke uns. Auch das Deckweiß im Malerkasten unserer Kinder besteht aus Titandioxid.
Titanoxid ist auch ein Lebensmittelfarbstoff, der die europäische Zulassungsnummer E 171 für Lebensmittelzusatzstoffe trägt. Titanoxid wird von der Lebensmittelindustrie als Farbstoff verwendet und verleiht Lebensmitteln/Arzneimitteln eine strahlend weiße Farbe. Das Weiß wird durch eine vollständige Streuung des Lichtes an den Pigmentteilchen verursacht.
Titandioxid in unserer Sonnencreme:
Ein wichtiger Anwendungsbereich des Titandioxid ist der Sonnenschutz. Durch die kleinen Metallteilchen wird die UV-Strahlung reflektiert und gelangt somit nicht in tiefere Hautschichten – ein mineralischer Lichtschutzfilter, der die Strahlung zurückwirft und die Haut schützt.
Sonnencremen mit mineralischem Filter gibt es schon länger. Wer Kinder hat kennt die weißen, klebrigen, dickflüssigen Pasten, die auf der Haut verteilt werden müssen, um einen Lichtschutz zu bekommen. Solch eine zähflüssige Sonnencreme galt jedoch für uns als NICHT praktikabel.
Um diesen Effekt der „weißen Schicht“ zu umgehen, kam Titandioxid als Nanopartikel zum Einsatz, da das Titandioxid in Nanogröße durchsichtig ist und somit keinen weißen Film hinterlässt. Studien zufolge ist die Wirkung von Nanopartikeln im menschlichen Körper jedoch nicht klar bzw. besteht die Möglichkeit für Nebenwirkungen da diese Nanopartikel können auf Grund ihrer Größe von < 100 nm die Hautbarriere durchdringen und somit in den Blutkreislauf kommen. Es bleiben offene Fragen zur Wirkung von Nanopartikel an Titandioxid im Körper - daher sind auch Titandioxid als Nanopartikel keine Alternative für uns.
Das Titandioxid, welches in unserer Sonnencreme zur Anwendung kommt liegt nicht im Nanobereich. Es sind größere Pigmente, die NICHT in die Haut eindringen können! Es werden Titandioxid-Pignemte verwendet, die eine ideale Größe haben, welche angenehm auf der Haut auzutragen ist, sich jedoch nicht im Nanobereich befinden. Zudem werden die Titandioxid-Partikel mit einem weiteren speziellen Verfahren ummantelt:
Sonnencreme LSF 30 wird mit Korund (eine gereinigte Tonerde) ummantelt und erreicht damit eine Größe von 400-600 nm.
Sonnencreme LSF 45 wird mit Silicium ummantelt und erreicht damit eine Größe von 140-170 nm.
Mit dieser adaptierten Technologie an Titandioxid wurde eine Sonnencreme-Serie natürlichen Ursprungs ermöglicht, die auch praktisch in der Anwendung ist.
Herstellung von Titandioxid
Der Fokus um die Gesundheit des Menschen ist das eine, die ökologische Sicht auf die die Umwelt der andere. Mit Titandioxid in der NICHT-Nanopartikelform tun wir das aktuell technologisch maximal mögliche für die Gesundheit des Menschen und ist in unseren Augen allen handelsüblichen Alternativen mit Parebenen, Mikroplastik, Alkohol, Allergenen, usw. weit überlegen.
Legen wir den Fokus auf die Ökologie – auch dieser Aspekt ist wesentlich. Zur Extraktion vom Oxid aus dem natürlichen Titan ist ein chemischer Prozess notwendig. Je nach gewähltem chemischen Verfahren ist die ökologische Belastung für die Umwelt mehr oder weniger stark, in jedem Fall jedoch bleibt derzeit ein Fragezeichen das geklärt werden muss. Wir bleiben am Thema dran und die Weiterentwicklung unserer Sonnencreme in BIO und Ökologie geht weiter.
Sind effektive Alternativen in Form von pflanzlichen, naturbelassenen Ölen verfügbar?
Die Antwort ist wie so oft ein JEIN. Verfügbar JA, vergleichbar effektiv NEIN. Pflanzliche und naturbelassene Öle können unsere Haut pflegen. Einige Öle gelten als natürliche Antioxidantien, da sie die Haut mit wertvollem Vitamin E versorgen – dies kann zB. den Alterungsprozess verzögern. Zusätzlich haben die Öle pflegende und schützende Eigenschaften für unsere Haut.
Leider ist der Sonnenschutz jedoch limitiert daher muss das Sonnenbad auch bei Nutzung der natürlichen Schutzleistung der Naturöle noch viel bewußter erfolgen als bei einer Sonnenlotion oder Sonnencreme mit Lichtschutzfaktor. So zählt Sesamöl zu den effektivsten natürlichen Sonnenschutzmitteln.
Olivenöl ist sehr ähnlich dazu mit ebenfalls 20 %, jedoch einen nicht so angenehmen Geruch wie Kokosnussöl. Aloe Vera Gel zur Pflege danach ist auch genial. Es weist zwar keinen Sonnenschutz auf, jedoch wirkt das Gel äußerst angenehm, kühlend und pflegend, nach längerem Aufenthalt in der Sonne.
